The Department is currently seeking an enthusiastic and trustworthy Library Assistant to work in a contract until June 2024.
This role is a part time role between 20-25 hour per week and will require working on weekdays, weekends, and evening shifts on a rostered basis.
The Job
Reporting through to a supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist customers with enquiries and be responsible for the movement of library resources and mail between branches.
- Communicate with key stakeholders in a timely manner and prioritise deliveries in line with branch and service requirements.
- Drive in a safe and responsible manner including ensuring vehicle procedures are followed and adhere to road rules.
- Stand for periods of time and undertake physical working including lifting, packing, carrying and loading / unloading library resources.
You
To be successful in this opportunity, you must have experience in the following areas & possess the below personal qualities:
- Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision in a flexible manner.
- Experience working as part of a team to deliver responsive and adaptable customer service to members of the public.
- Current full “C” class driver’s licence and an excellent driving record / history.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
