More action is needed to reduce emissions and manage climate change. At the SEC, we are building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria's transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria's renewable energy target of 95% by 2035. 

We are working together for renewable, affordable reliable energy for all Victorians. 

Your role 

Are you an ambitious and skilled procurement leader who is passionate about driving corporate success through innovative procurement strategies?

We have an exciting opportunity where the successful incumbent of the role will be responsible for developing and leading the SEC's corporate portfolio strategies including managed services, software, IT consultancy, professional consultancy, payroll, brand, marketing services and social responsibility.

You will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of category strategies, sourcing strategies for enterprise-wide reviews and development of commercial agreements, negotiation, and ongoing category management.

This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.

What you will do: 

  • Partner with Corporate business stakeholders to develop and deliver successful and best value sourcing strategies and outcomes.
  • Drive supplier development and innovation across the business, including the development and implementation of social license aligned Corporate Procurement initiatives in support of diversity and indigenous procurement.
  • Lead strategic supplier relationship management programs across Corporate to improve supplier contract performance.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to achieve successful contract execution including contract negotiation and execution.
  • Lead negotiations on key sourcing activities to optimise commercial outcomes, benefits realization, and value creation.

Who you are: 

Must Have:

Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:

  • Tertiary qualifications associated with Procurement; Business, Commerce or Law is preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience post qualification in procurement or equivalent commercial roles.
  • Able to present and interact at senior management and Board level.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Strong understanding of risk management.
  • Ability to interact and challenge at all levels in the organisation.

Highly Desirable:

  • An understanding of Victorian Government.
  • MCIPS Procurement qualification.
  • Energy industry experience.

We will also play an important role in helping Victorian households to reduce their energy bills and emissions by offering simple and effective solutions to help them switch to electric.   

The energy transformation will create thousands of jobs. The SEC will play a role in attracting and training our future renewable energy workforce, including through the SEC Centre of Training Excellence.
