About your new role
As a Library Assistant each day will bring its own unique challenges and experiences. Every day will present you with unique opportunities to engage with community members from all walks of life, each bringing their own perspectives, backgrounds, and needs.
To succeed in this role, emotional maturity and resilience are crucial. You will need to navigate various situations with empathy, and adaptability, fostering meaningful connections and effective communication within our diverse community. You will have a keen aptitude for swiftly mastering new technologies and utilising them proficiently to support customers in navigating our diverse range of equipment and resources.
Successful candidates will be capable of meeting the physical requirements of the role, which involves shelving and relocating library materials, as well as extended periods of work on the library floor. These tasks entail bending, reaching, lifting, and prolonged standing.
We're currently seeking dedicated individuals for both permanent full-time and part-time positions. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate flexibility, as they may be required to work across the entire Library Service in addition to working weekends as operational needs dictate.
- Central Region Libraries – Southport, Broadbeach, and Nerang Libraries.
- North Region Libraries – Helensvale, Runaway Bay, Ormeau, and Upper Coomera Libraries
- Southern Region Libraries – Burleigh Heads, Burleigh Waters, Coolangatta, Elanora, and Robina Libraries.
