About City of Ryde Libraries

City of Ryde Libraries comprises of five branches at Ryde, West Ryde, North Ryde, Eastwood, Gladesville as well as a significant online library. Our libraries are places of social inclusion where members of our community borrow items for leisure and lifelong learning, learn about new technology, participate in activities, attend children’s and adults programs, and using our spaces for studying. They are lively, busy places and serve a culturally diverse customer base.

About the Role

The Library Resources Support Officer sits within the Library Resources Team and works in all areas of the library providing front-line customer service and is passionate about giving back to the community. This role is rostered to work at our five branch locations and the successful applicant will need to display outstanding flexibility as well as the ability to develop strong team relationships across the service. On occasion, you will also be required to work as a shift supervisor at a branch or provide support to library collection services and interlibrary loans.

About You

You are a dedicated an enthusiastic professional with a passion for delivering exceptional library services. Your approach to library services is customer-centric, consistently delivering high-level service with warmth and efficiency. 

In addition, you will also have:

  • Exceptional customer service skills and enthusiasm to help our diverse public library users from finding books to troubleshooting technology
  • Exceptional teamwork skills with proven experience to also work independently
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to learn new processes and systems quickly
  • Experience in a vibrant customer service role and ability to prioritise tasks
  • Work at the various libraries within City of Ryde and different shifts as required
  • Experience in leading a team in a supervisory role on rostered shifts
  • Experience in collections support and interlibrary loans desirable
  • Completion of a library qualification or working experience in a library environment

Please note: This is a Child Related position and employment is subject to verification of the Working With Children Check status. The cost of obtaining a WWC clearance is at the applicant's expense.

In line with Council’s COVIDSafe Workplace Policy & Procedure all staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Your commencing annual salary will range from $66,841 to $76,168 + Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
