Job description

City of Newcastle (CN) are seeking 2 x Permanent Part Time employees who are experienced in libraries work to join the Museums Archive Library and Learning (MALL) Service Unit.

We are seeking enthusiastic team players to assume a wide range of branch responsibilities. The successful candidates will help customers with information enquiries and technology access, tidying, managing stock, booking programs and events, completing reconciliations, and any other day-to-day operations.

The Library Customer Support Officers will be passionate about library culture and will look to educate, promote, and encourage visitors to explore our services at the library branches. Our new staff members will also coach, mentor, induct and train new employees, students and volunteers as well as induct and direct any tradespersons required on site.

We are looking to supplement the team with specific hours to ensure the smooth operation and service delivery of our various library locations. The hours and days of work that are available are:

  • Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (36 hours per fortnight).
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and one 4-hour Saturday per fortnight (46 hours per fortnight).

Remuneration:  Thursday, Friday and 4-hour Saturday - $34,729.52 + 11% Superannuation per annum for a 36-hour fortnight

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and one 4-hour Saturday per fortnight - $48,700.63 + 11% Superannuation per annum for a 46-hour fortnight.
