Library Teacher

Brighton  

• Part Time, Teaching Position (Monday to Wednesday, 8.00am to 4.00pm), 

• Brighton Campus

• Fixed Term from 22 July 2024 until 27 June 2025

This is a leave replacement position for 12 months.

The role

The Teacher Librarian is a suitably qualified teacher librarian or an experienced teacher with knowledge of children’s and young adults’ literature and information literacy skills who will work with staff to enhance student learning and reading programs for students. The Teacher Librarian supports and implements the vision of Haileybury Libraries through advocating and building effective library and information services and programs. 

The Teacher Librarian will be responsible for: 

• Running the Renaissance Accelerated Reading program for all Castlefield Year 7 and 8 students. This requires liaising with Middle School English department and other Teacher Librarians who deliver the program at the other campuses 

• Collaborating with the Heads of Library, Teacher Librarians and Head of Campus to develop, resource and implement reading programs for students  

• Growing a warm, welcoming, learner-centred library environment 

• Promoting the library as a learning hub within the school

About You
