The Role
Reporting to the Library Coordinator and based in Windsor, the purpose of this position is to lead the development of technology in the Arts and Culture branch. This is a varied role with a focus of delivering and supporting technology in a library environment. The role has responsibility for the maintenance and management of library systems including but not limited to: Library Management System, RFID, Print Management and systems related provision of public access PCs.
About You
You will have an interest in keeping up with emerging library technologies and trends in public libraries and are keen to identify and apply innovative solutions and ideas in the workplace. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in customer service and have a proven ability to build positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have a demonstrated ability to source, collate and communicate using a variety of reporting tools and will be adept at managing and prioritising workload to achieve required outcomes. You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently, work on multiple tasks, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of two years in a similar environment e.g Library or education
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or Library and Information Services or related discipline, or extensive relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills especially in a customer service and team orientated environment including liaison with vendors and suppliers
- Experience in managing Library Management Systems, Website and Radio Frequency Systems (RFID)
- Current knowledge of technology and trends in public libraries and ability to apply innovative solutions in the workplace
- Experience with website design and maintenance especially using Squizz matrix
- Demonstrated experience in organising and presenting technology training for staff and customers in simple English
- Experience in technology troubleshooting, system replacement and enhancement of Library Systems and cultural institutions
- Experience in operation of PC/LAN/WAN installation
- Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate resources, manage projects and evaluate technology and opportunities
