We are currently inviting applications for the role of:

Library Technician

The role

The Library Technician plays a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of the Secondary Library, creating a welcoming environment and supporting students and staff.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring, cataloguing and maintaining the library collection
  • Providing exceptional customer service to those visiting the library
  • Creating a welcoming library environment which offers a range of initiatives throughout the year.
  • Maintaining an innovative and progressive outlooking on the library service offered

This is a full-time role during school term time, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, innovative and experienced Library Technician who enjoys working in a school environment. You will have:

  • A strong understanding and demonstrated experience in contemporary library practices
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills coupled with strong customer service
  • Relevant library and information services qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Competent with Oliver library system and either have experience or the ability to quickly acquire skills in other relevant technology packages
  • Strong administrative skills with a high-level of competence with the Microsoft suite
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • A can-do attitude and high level of flexibility
