In everything we do, we take an approach to protect, grow and innovate WA’s economy, community and environment.About the opportunityWe are currently looking for enthusiastic and customer service driven individuals to join DPIRD and work within the Statewide Operations branch as Licensing Officer. We are seeking to establish a pool of suitably qualified applicants which will be used to fill Fixed Term, Permanent, Full Time, and Part Time positions that may arise over a 12-month period.As a Licensing Officer, you will act as the first point of contact for recreational and commercial fishing customers, fish processors and aquaculture clients concerning the processing of licence applications and general fishing enquiries. You will issue, renew, transfer, and vary licenses and permits as required. You will also be required to reconcile revenue collected and carry out banking duties as required.We currently have one (1) permanent full-time position along with other fixed-term positions, all with flexible work arrangements, available for immediate filling.We are looking for individuals with:

  • demonstrated customer service skills and experience;
  • good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • the ability to think strategically and interpret apply and advice on relevant acts, regulations, policies, procedures and systems.
