We currently seek an Energetic and Passionate Candidate for the role of Lifeboat Service Engineer, based in our Sydney Office.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Lifeboat Service Engineer is responsible for the service and maintenance of Marine Lifesaving Equipment. VIKING equipment is used to preserve the lives of anyone on the water whether it be recreational boating or on some of the worlds most advanced oil and gas facilities. Your effort and attention to detail really makes a difference!
You will be supported and welcomed into an experienced team and given comprehensive training to ensure you are set up for success!
Our next Lifeboat Service Engineer is a key position within VIKING and integral to the company's growth strategy.
What do I need to be a Fantastic Lifeboat Service Engineer?
- Be fit and agile.
- A background in Marine or Offshore Lifeboat Servicing.
- Have a can-do attitude and enjoy seeing a job through from start to finish.
Applicants ideally shall meet the following criteria:
- Able to perform inspection and maintenance services of lifeboat, including engine, sprinkler system, air supply system, bailing system, fixed and loose equipment.
- Able to perform inspection and maintenance service of release hook. system, hydrostatic membrane unit and central release unit.
- Able to perform inspection and maintenance service of davit structure including blocks and supporting structure, wires and wire fastening, limit switches, etc.
- Able to perform inspection and maintenance service of winch structure including wire fastening, remote control, limit switches, electrical installation, static holding brake and lowering brake.
- Able to troubleshoot issues, carry out breakdown maintenance.
- Able to manage assigned projects/assignments from start to completion.
- Able to produce high quality service reports.
The following is desirable, but not essential:
- Boat Building or Marine Mechanic Background Manual driver's license.
- Forklift License
- Hold or be eligible to apply for a MSIC
- BOSIET, FOET
