Welcome to Princes Court! As an aged care provider nestled in the heart of Mildura, we provide a range of diverse options, including independent living, respite, residential, dementia, palliative care and home care services to ensure community members live full and meaningful lives. We have been part of the Mildura community for over 60 years, providing comfort and security to the aging residents of the area. 

Our team provide high-quality aged care and independent living choices, responding to changing community needs with innovative services and support. Princes Court has three business units, Princes Court Homes, a 100-bed facility in a residential setting, Princes Court Village, with 55 secure, independent retirement units, and Princes Court At Home, providing quality homecare services. 

With almost 150 dedicated staff members, we strive to provide our residents with the highest care and attention. Our community of individuals with diverse backgrounds contribute in various ways, making it a truly enriching experience for staff members, volunteers, and family members.  

Your Next Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Lifestyle Assistant to join our Princes Court team.

You will be part of a dynamic care team that is influencing change in quality of aged care, fostering a positive culture and team approach to service delivery and contribution to the well-being of all residents whilst ensuring that all residents experience the Princes Court resident-centred care approach that promotes living life to the end.

The Lifestyle Assistant is responsible for assisting the Lifestyle Coordinator to organise activities, events and outings for our residents.

In this role you will encourage residents to participate in the leisure and lifestyle program in accordance with their leisure and lifestyle care plans, and to participate in other forms of social contact within the facility and the community.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify research and implement entertainment and engagement activities, programs, and events for residents.
  • Maintain lifestyle resources.
  • Organise resident lifestyle assessments and reviews.
  • Assist residents with arranging their medical appointments, including booking transport and arranging someone to attend with them.
  • Support the Lifestyle Coordinator in the management the volunteer team, school groups, community visitors scheme and registered training organisations.
  • Assist residents with labelling their equipment and mobility aids.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Certificate III or IV in Leisure and Lifestyle required.
  • Certificate III Individual Support required.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • A good understanding of the Commonwealth’s Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards and documentation and how this applies to the resident lifestyle.
  • Knowledge of the Serious Incident Response Scheme and its requirements.
  • Experience within the age care or health care industry, working with clients with varied care needs including those with dementia desirable.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to provide meaningful lifestyle activities and events for residents.
  • Demonstrated inter-personal and communication skills that enable a close working relationship with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
