As a Lifestyle/Care Support Assistant you will provide support to the Lifestyle/Care Support Coordinator at mecwacare Simon Price Centre, a 100 – bed facility. You will assist in maintaining active and independent lives of our residents through the development and implementation of activity plans developed by the Lifestyle Coordinator.
Successful applicants must have:
- Certificate III in Community Services (Lifestyle and Leisure) and/or relevant qualification at Certificate III level
- Previous experience in a similar role in residential aged care or community setting
- Ability to contribute to the assessment of each resident’s social and emotional needs and design appropriate, individual lifestyle programs to meet their needs.
- An understanding of the ageing process and caring for older people
- Self-motivation with well-developed organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, delegate and attend to multiple tasks.
- Well-developed communication skills
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Records Check
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Desirable: Current Working with Children Check (WWC)
