- Assist residents to achieve maximum independence, maintain friendships and participate in the community through planned group and individual leisure-based activities.
- Support the implementation of individualised leisure and lifestyle programs according to clients’ social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, physical and cognitive needs and abilities. This includes the provision of one-to-one activities, group activities and special events.
- Ensuring residents' needs, values and spiritual values and cultural preferences are taken into account
- Certificate III/IV or Diploma in Lifestyle and Leisure or Diversional Therapy (or similar)
- Experience in a similar role within the Health Care or Aged Care environment with exposure to residents with Dementia
- Ability to provide high quality care that meets the needs of customers and assist in the creation of lifestyle plans that reflect the individual.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and their families
