About the program
Our Wellways LinC ACT Program is a social connection, inclusion and engagement program to support people with mental health challenges find a place of their own design within their local community.
About the role
The role of the volunteer will be to facilitate the development of social connections and encourage the support of other community members to be inclusive. It is through developing these social connections and linkages that participants can independently be active in community life.
Volunteers will support participants to link in with a range of social and community networks e.g. find a community class or social group that match their interests, support them as they gain confidence catching public transport to give them access to more of Canberra, try out different sporting groups to find their passion.
Activities are either low-cost or free and can be weekdays or weekends - including evenings - whatever suits you and the participant.
Volunteers will be matched for a 6-month term with the program aiming to support the participant to create for themselves a sustainable and enjoyable connection to their community.
You will complete online induction training and receive ongoing support from staff and supervisors.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Right to work within Australia
- 100 points of ID
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Satisfactory National Police Records Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children's Check
