The role

  • Conduct routine inspections of transmission lines, towers, and related equipment to identify signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and tightening connections to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
  • Respond promptly to reports of transmission line faults or outages and diagnose issues using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Execute repair procedures to replace defective components, repair damaged conductors, and restore service within established timelines.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new transmission lines, towers, and associated hardware following engineering specifications and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement upgrades and modifications to existing transmission infrastructure to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures and protocols while working on or near high-voltage transmission lines to prevent accidents and ensure personal safety as well as the safety of colleagues and the public.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and maintain awareness of industry's best practices and regulatory requirements related to electrical safety and transmission line operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs performed on transmission lines and associated equipment.
  • Generate detailed reports documenting findings, recommendations, and any corrective actions taken to address identified issues.
The location of the role can vary depending on the Project.
Qualification and Experience
  • Strong understanding of overhead transmission line construction and associated accessories, plant, and equipment.
  • A commitment to health and safety and willingness to comply with Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
  • Driver Licence.
  • Certificate III ESI in Transmission Overhead.
  • General Construction Induction Card.
  • EWP Rescue & Escape and working at height certificate.
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Dogging & Rigging licence.
  • Relevant state electrical license.
  • A current High risk work license.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work under pressure.
