Linux Systems Administrator

White IT is a rapidly growing IT Support & Consultancy company based in Wynnum. We provide remote and on-site technical support to SME's in the Brisbane and Gold Coast areas.
 
Due to a consistent increase in our workload we are looking to employ a new individual in the role of a Contract Linux Systems Administrator.

We are looking for someone who can manage their own time effectively and has worked with Old School Linux environments.

Primary Role Requirements:
    Remote server support for multiple clients.
    Advanced Linux Server System Administration.
    System recovery, Working Knowledge of:

• System Recovery and backups.
• Identifying, tracking and resolving problems of Linux systems with application groups, internal and external IT providers.
• Working Knowledge of RAID Arrays and NAS Devices.
• Proven relevant experience in system administration, operations and support within a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge with hardware and software across the following technologies:
  • Enterprise web applications and services (Linux & Windows);
  • Infrastructure automation and scripting (Puppet, Python, Bash, Ruby, PowerShell, Ansible);
  • Foreman and Rundeck;
  • Web Database Technologies (RDS, MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

• Monitoring Services (SolarWinds, Icinga / Nagios);
• Sound knowledge of systems and network security administration practices;
• Excellent time management and communication skills;
• Outstanding customer service focus;
• Ability to manage multiple requests and problems at once and prioritise issues; and
• Experience with AWS is highly regarded. 

    
Additionally, experience with the following technologies would be highly regarded:
    VPN's and VLAN's.
    Virtual Machines
    Advanced Networking Knowledge.
    Terminal Application processing

Deployment of Fog and systems.

You must possess the following attributes:

    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Design and documentation skills
    Demonstrated collaborative approach working in teams
    Experience in end to end application management policies and procedures
    Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate, prioritise and deliver on multiple tasks to achieve   deadlines
    A passion for IT and learning all aspects of IT

Tertiary qualifications are a must with at least TAFE Certification and Qualifications.

A minimum of 5 years experience supporting the technologies listed would be expected.
