The Role:
Based in Fortitude Valley we are currently seeking a Principal Technology Officer to provide high level technical expertise, support and administration by maintaining the operational environment and defined enterprise service levels.
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, dedicated, will contribute to our positive and participatory team culture, and who can manage competing priorities and achieve results.
The role
- Maintain defined enterprise service levels by providing high quality technical expertise, support and administration whilst adhering to departmental standards, policies, procedures and ITSM processes.
- Provide support and assistance in the clarification and prioritisation of tasks by ensuring assigned priorities are met in accordance with defined enterprise service levels.
- Assist management in the decision-making process and continuous improvement by preparing technical reports, specifications and trend analysis within the unit.
- Provide expertise to progress the installation and configuration of hardware, firmware, and software as per departmental frameworks.
- Manage ICT assets by ensuring relevant information is recorded accurately.
- Actively participate in a team of specialist technical resources in the delivery of complex technical solutions.
- Perform administrative functions and other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Are you right for this role?
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate your ability to develop and promote ITIL Service Management processes, as well as being able to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability or the ability to quickly learn ServiceNow and ITIL Service Management processes, primarily incident/problem/test/change and configuration management. (SFIA: USUP Level 3, PBMG Level 4, CHMG Level 3, CFMG Level 3, TEST Level 2)
- Demonstrated high level of expertise and experience in the following technology domains in support of enterprise ICT services in a large customer focused organisation
- Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) / Oracle Linux System administration
- Virtualised environments especially VMWare / AWS
- Shell/Python scripting
- Experience in the following technical domains would also be highly regarded
- Oracle Solaris 11 / Oracle Solaris Cluster / Solaris zones / ZFS
- Centralised configuration management especially with Ansible
- Provision of highly available (HA) infrastructure
- The Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) especially DNS, SFTP, HTTP, SMTP
- Demonstrated high level technical expertise evidenced by the ability to provide professional support, advice and solutions. (SFIA: ITOP Level 4).
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing).
- Proven ability to work in a team environment, developing effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders. (NHS Collaborative Working).
- Demonstrated ability to analyse situations and successfully implement solutions within a quality framework to meet service agreements. (SFIA: SLMO Level 4).
- Ability to prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are achieved.
