About the role
Reporting directly to the company’s Local Management Team this multifaceted autonomous role is an essential part of our company's operations.
You will be required to demonstrate excellent communication, planning and organizational skills. Have a good understanding of inventory process control in a distribution environment and hold a valid driver and forklift license. Most important is the ability to work in a small team promoting a can-do attitude and hands on approach to all aspects of this role. You will be expected to continually train and learn more about our in-house and external systems / software as we are looking for someone to grow with the company and eventually head up a team.

Job Brief
We are looking for a competent and reliable Inventory and Logistics Controller to be responsible for our overall supply chain management. This is a unique opportunity for the right person to join our team and become an integral part of our business. This is a permanent role Monday to Thursday 08:30 till 17:00 and Friday 08:30 till 14:30 with 30 mins for lunch daily, the position pays $36 per hour plus super.

The role will require you to monitor and manage product specification data, storage / distribution of goods and report on the company’s inventory. This is a business-critical role as the efficient handling of the company’s products and supplies is essential for the attainment of our business goals.
We require someone to manage the entire product data set and order cycle so as to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction. Our Inventory and Logistics Controller needs to be a dependable professional with excellent record-keeping abilities and strong mathematical skills.

Requirements and Skills to perform the role
 
·      Proven experience in a similar position
·      Honest, reliable and trustworthy
·      Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
·      Working knowledge of inventory and freight software
·      DG – storage and transport understanding
·      Advanced oral and written communication skills
·      Interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal with a variety of                interactions
·      Excellent computer proficiency
·      Analytical mind with knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
·      Strong math skills with keen problem solving and organisational skills
·      The ability to plan, delegate and evaluate progress toward goals.

Role Responsibilities
 
·       Management of the day-to-day supply activities
·       Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
·       Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services 
·       Coordinating production schedules, storage and shipping of products and items.
·       Monitor quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
·       Ensure smooth flow of resources through competent organization, planning, distribution and transport management 
·       Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
·       Arrange warehouse, catalogue goods, priorities schedules and process shipments
·       Resolve any arising product or delivery issues, discrepancies and or complaints
·       Proactively enhance our internal control, cost effectiveness, waste control and identify opportunities for improvement
·       Maintain online systems and database
·       Report on general stockholding, stock performance and supplier performance.
·       Provide solutions for overstock / underperforming products and discontinued lines.
·       Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus
·       Build and maintain long term relationships with suppliers
·       Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
·       Liaising with clients, suppliers and staff to ensure inventory is recorded, ordered and delivery schedule is maintained.  
·       Work with key stakeholders across departments to ensure better inventory control to support sales and reduce logistical costs.
