Established in 1950, Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative is 100% owned by fishermen and license holders supplying the Co-operative and is operated for the benefit of members and the communities in which they operate.

GFC specialises in the processing and exporting of Western Rock Lobster. With approximately 70 percent of Western Australia’s commercial rock lobster catch flowing through its supply chain, GFC is the world’s largest rock lobster processor and is a significant contributor to the WA economy.

GFC supports fishermen, employees, licence holders, and their family members along a thousand kilometers of WA’s coastline.

About the job

GFC operates all year round to service members up and down the coast. Seasonal activity peaks between November and March however this casual role is anticipated to assist us year round at varying levels. 
 

We are currently looking for a Logistics and Maintenance assistant (with a HR licence) to assist our Geraldton depot team. The role is responsible for the following:
 

• Coordinate the storage and distribution of bait to GFC Fishers
• Coordinate the distribution of ancillary equipment to Fishers and depots.
• Assist the Logistics & Maintenance Leading hand with the operation & Maintenance of the Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative premises, transport fleet at Geraldton, Kalbarri, Port Gregory, Horrocks and Dongara

Essential Job Requirements

1. Ability to pass a National Police Clearance.
2. Ability to pass a Commercial Drivers Medical.
3. Ability to pass an Alcohol Test before each shift.
4. Ability to pass random Drug Testing.
5. Ability to lift/move loads up to 30kg (dual person lifts).
6. This position WILL involve contact with seafood and shellfish products.
7. Minimum HR Driver License.
8. High Risk Work Licence (Forklift)

Essential Skills 

1. Microsoft Office Word and Excel Basic level of proficiency
2. Well developed organisational skills
3. Well-developed communication and relationship building skills.
4. Ability to prioritise and multi task
5. Ability to handle all situations in a calm and professional manner.
