About the Role
In this wide-ranging role, the Logistics Inventory and Planning Manager is responsible for the development and execution of systems and processes to maintain inventory accuracy across the business. You will also support the logistics and wider business teams by delivering Logistics planning outputs including forecasting, logistics activity planning and analytics.
You will liaise closely with the logistics team, store operations, partner warehouses, IT, planning, eCom and product teams. This role also has management responsibility for an off-shore support team member who carries out day to day inventory management activities, including store stock takes, IBTs and other inventory maintenance tasks.
The role is ideal for a candidate looking to take their first step into a leadership position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor inventory accuracy across the business. Enhancing the monitoring process, utilising system tools as well as offshore support personnel to capture and reconcile inventory variances at source.
- Responsible for the monthly inventory close, working closely with finance to reconcile all locations and coordinate the provisioning and write-off process.
- Partner with relevant finance team members to account for financial transactions related to inventory adjustment processing.
- Develop inventory reporting to drive visibility within the logistics team and other stakeholders.
- Maintain working relationships with 3PL and other partners to maintain inventory alignment across systems and ensure accuracy of inventory transactions.
- Identify issues or opportunities for improvement within inventory management, carry out root cause analysis to establish and implement corrective measures.
- Identify opportunities to simplify or automate inventory processes for improved accuracy, robustness and efficiency.
- Support business execution by planning inventory levels and providing sku forecasting across channels and geographies to facilitate business decision making and effective 3PL partner activity planning.
- Develop approaches, both system and process enhancements that enable improvements to forecasting for increased accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including planning and wholesale teams to provide accurate activity planning.
- Development of Power BI dashboards and reporting for improved business visibility and data driven decision making by internal and external partners.
- Act as a key data analysis resource for logistics and other stakeholders to facilitate improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
- Participate in future Logistics planning development to support active SKU and range management to facilitate key strategic objectives.
About You
To be successful in the role you will need to have:
- Have experience working in a retail environment, ideally, eCommerce, logistics or supply chain disciplines.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and consult with key stakeholders across a variety of functions.
- An inquisitive mind with strong critical thinking skills and ability to use initiative to own the problem through to solution.
- A process orientated mindset with the ability to articulate and document complex inventory and logistics process.
- Good understanding of inventory transactions and control processes.
- Exposure to ERP, WMS and Ecommerce platforms with an understanding of system transaction interface and inventory flow principles.
- Analytical, with ability to interpret analytics and utilise process analysis techniques.
- Skilled in data analysis utilising Excel, Power BI or similar.
- Investigative and initiative-taking approach to complete tasks.
- Strong administrative skills and diligence to ensure accuracy of output.
- Interpersonal skills and able to influence others to deliver a result
- High energy and an ability to work in a dynamic and past paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of output on an ongoing basis with a passion for the brand.
- Customer focused, considering internal & external customers’ needs when setting priorities.
