Introduction
We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our Australia Pacific Logistics Team. You will be responsible for supporting Customer Logistics with all international and domestic requirements.
In this position, you will report to the Manager, Logistics APA.
This position is a 12-24 month contract role and will be based at our West Perth location.
Team you belong to
Your team are mostly based in Australia. We are currently working on a new project and this role will help with the team overflow.
What you’ll do
Overall logistics planning, co-ordination of shipping arrangements and expediting activities.
Forward planning to achieve on-time delivery requirements.
Liaising with the sending location (internal and external suppliers), Logistics Service Providers and Order Management Teams, to provide quotations and freight options/solutions for shipments.
Highlighting risks where foreseeable and mitigating risks where possible.
Optimizing freight spend where possible.
Responding and acting on Order Management enquiries.
Expediting and tracking shipments, with particular focus on critical breakdown orders – where milestone status updates is provided to all relevant parties (end-to-end from planning through to delivery).
Submission of pre-alert documents for inbound shipments.
Mitigating customs duty and utilizing freight concessions where possible.
Preparation and dissemination of inbound shipment reporting.
Checking and processing freight invoices.
Who you are
Logistics experience – ideally in an industry similar to Metso.
Working knowledge of international (import/export/air/ocean) and domestic (air/road) transport, customs and regulatory compliance guidelines.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate – Advanced Excel skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, positively contributing to the culture of the organization.
Ability to articulate, engage and analyse situations, seeking practical solutions for a positive outcome.
Desirable
SAP experience.
