About the Role
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the management of intercompany ground transfers, inbound logistics via local transportation vendors, and the timely and compliant movement of materials within the supply chain. This role ensures logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently across multiple sites while maintaining compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the contractors engaged within the logistics function.
- Monitor logistics forecasting, scheduling, execution, and associated reporting conducted by the team.
- Co-ordinate rail services and schedules for Ivanhoe.
- Maintain safe systems of work for the Ivanhoe rail siding.
- Oversee initiatives related to optimization, quality control, and continuous improvement of logistics processes.
- Review, report and ensure thorough investigation of logistics-related incidents.
- Collaborate with buyers and production personnel to streamline replenishment processes, inventory management, and supplier issue resolution.
- Oversee the receiving of feedstocks, in accordance with site inventory plans.
- Enforce compliance with supplier contracts and transportation requirements for incoming materials.
- Manage daily reconciliation of inventory movements as well as month-end physical inventory processes and maintain accuracy of inventory records.
- Supervise the operations of off-site bulk handling facility for incoming materials.
- Optimize ground transportation strategies for incoming materials and intercompany transfers.
- Provide regular updates and communicate logistics performance to upper management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
About you:
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Strong contractor management and logistics experience –essential.
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, inventory management, and transportation coordination.
- Familiarity with relevant systems and databases such as SAP.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in conducting investigations and reporting.
- Commitment to ensuring compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, purchasing, and vendors.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve logistics issues.
