AddressBaiada is a privately-owned Australian company providing quality poultry products throughout Australia. We operate throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia with our Head office in Pendle Hill in Sydney, NSW. Our brands include Lilydale Free Range and Steggles.
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the position is responsible for the supervision of a Quality Assurance team which maintains processing plant compliance with all relevant Baiada, Regulatory and Customer codes of practice, regulations and guidelines such as HACCP and cGMP.
It is essential for the position to provide a support function to the relevant departments within the wider Baiada Group to implement and maintain our quality systems as well as fostering close working relationships with local processing plant Managers, Supervisor and Contractors.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide daily direction, guidance and leadership for a Quality Assurance Team.
- Maintain plant compliance with relevant Company, Regulatory and Customer codes of practice, regulations and guidelines.
- Develop, implement and maintain raw material and product testing schedules, reporting of results and trend analysis.
- Develop, implement and maintain continuous improvement, customer complaint, non-conformance and corrective action data bases including trend analysis and reporting.
- Assist with execution and close out of internal and external audits to maintain food safety and quality regulations and standards.
- Accountability for food safety and quality culture, employee safety and environmental protection in relation to personal conduct.
- Maintain strict compliance with Baiada Guidelines and Management Systems
Essential skills:
- Extensive previous experience in food processing and distribution.
- Experience leading and supervising small teams.
- Detailed knowledge of all products and processes within the food safety scope
- Excellent mathematical skills
- High level of communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to make quick and correct decisions “on the job” and long-term decisions
- Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to arrive at and implement long term preventive Actions.
- Ability to use various online systems
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to achieve departmental targets
- Implementation and maintenance of HACCP systems, cGMP, ISO or similar system.
