The Job...
As a Recoveries Specialist reporting to the Collections Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Educate customers on options for deferring payments and find solutions for resolving delinquency.
- Liaising with mercantile agents, issuing legal notices, providing instruction and monitoring action until the asset is reclaimed.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships between internal and external parties.
- Negotiating with customers and providing mutually beneficial payment arrangements to ensure the payment plan can be maintained.
- Collecting on escalated overdue consumer and commercial accounts.
- Negotiating and monitoring payment arrangements.
- Conducting skip tracing where necessary to locate customers and initiate collection activities.
- Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders to solve client queries.
- Manage risk and compliance and work in accordance with relevant legislations and company policies and procedures.
In order to thrive in this position, you will ideally have the following skills and personal attributes:
- Proven track record in the collection process with respect to recovering assets.
- Experience with commencing repossession of assets and instruct agents as required.
- Actively manage the risk profile of portfolios and make recommendations to management regarding high-risk accounts.
- Weekly and monthly reporting as required.
- Ability to manage complex recovery matters and handle sensitive financial matters.
- Ensure relevant legislation is adhered to.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for quickly establishing rapport.
- Robust negotiation abilities and a willingness to cooperate with clients to achieve positive outcomes.
