Your new role
The department is looking for a M365 Architect to assist with M365 tenant migrations as part of a large program of work delivering ICT improvements. Working closely with Business Analysts, M365 Engineer, Technicians, and 3rd party Vendors, the M365 Architect will be responsible for responsible for designing and configuring Microsoft 365 (M365) services and solutions within the department. This role requires a deep understanding of M365 capabilities, cloud technologies, and best practices to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable M365 services. It plays a key role in supporting the onboarding with minimal downtime into the department's central M365 tenancy and balancing the needs of diverse end-user group to provide a safe and sustainable platform.
In this role, you will;
- Collaborate with Secure Connected Learners Program, to understand business requirements and design comprehensive M365 solutions that align with organizational goals. Create architecture blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Lead the deployment and configuration of M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Intune, Power BI, Power Apps, and related applications. Ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on M365 services, staying up-to-date with the latest updates, features, and security enhancements. Provide guidance on architecture decisions and technical issues.
- Develop and implement standards that align M365 services with the organization's other collaboration and learning platforms. Ensure consistency and seamless user experience across platforms.
- Analyse M365 service performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations to enhance user experience and system efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to M365 services. Collaborate with support teams to investigate and resolve service disruptions in a timely manner.
- Provide training and guidance to IT teams and end-users on M365 services, including Intune, Power BI, and Power Apps. Develop and maintain technical documentation for configurations and procedures.
- Integrate M365 services with other cloud solutions and on-premises systems, ensuring a seamless and cohesive user experience.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven (5 years +) experience as a solutions architect or similar role, with a focus on Microsoft 365 services.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Intune, Power BI, and Power Apps.
- In-depth understanding of cloud technologies and architecture principles.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards, data protection regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent customer focus and customer engagement.
