This leadership role goes beyond conventional boundaries, empowering you to lead and innovate across many aspects of our data enablement value stream.
What will your day look like
- Design and build key ML-powered features for ANZ Plus. These features provide innovative and best-in-class customer experience and automate complex business operations that challenges the status quo.
- Co-create with business teams on requirements, objectives, technical and business design, so that the potential of modern ML/AI technologies can be harnessed with appropriate considerations to FSI legal, ethical and compliance requirements.
- Drive the swift adoption of new ML/AI capabilities in an FSI environment through effective communication and collaboration with risks to business, risk and legal stakeholders, and lead in implementation of effective controls.
- Scale the impact of ML through enabling data scientists and non-specialist engineers to be able to build and productionise models. Through a combination of standardising designs and recommended practices, identifying automation opportunities, and leading by example and influential collaboration.
- People leadership of a small engineering team, support and mentor engineers in their development and career growth.
- Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and delivering what matters
To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring extensive analytical and technical skills, business acumen and natural curiosity to deliver on product investigations and analysis and support initiatives through insights.
You will ideally bring the following:
- An understanding of how Machine Learning apps are designed, developed, and deployed. Including familiarity with:
- An application programming language (preferably Python)
- Infrastructure-as-code
- CI/CD
- Testing Methodologies
- Data application architecture on GCP
- Competency in advocating for the use of ML models in a heavily-regulated business environment. Including the ability to:
- Articulate the risks associated with the use of statistical models
- Design controls to mitigate these risks
- Communicate the benefits of ML, as well as the risk-management strategy to non-technical stakeholders
- Engineering leadership skills. Such as:
- Empathy required to guide more junior members of the team in their career development
- Experience leading the work practices of high-performing engineering teams
