YOUR ROLE

We're looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Technology and Operations Ambiata team. This role primarily involves designing, implementing, and managing software architecture for deploying and monitoring ML models in production, including data pipelines, CI/CD/MLOps pipelines, and API endpoints.

You'll be responsible for building highly scalable ML pipelines using various tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and major public cloud platforms, while also automating ML deployment and establishing a robust MLOps environment.  Furthermore, you'll define validation strategies and efficient pipelines for data preprocessing, augmentation, and feature engineering, implementing best practices to enhance the existing ML infrastructure.

This full-time, permanent role is open for a Sydney or Melbourne location and involves a hybrid work model.

ABOUT YOU 

We're seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer who is a high performer and consistently drives innovation, along with the following experience:

• At least 2-3 years of experience in ML engineering and operations
• Experience and a solid understanding of ML in production.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python
• Solid understanding of building data pipelines, ML pipelines, and Model Deployment frameworks, including Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, real-time processing and cloud infrastructure
• Hands-on experience in infrastructure automation and building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in working with and building ML models and ML pipelines in the public cloud; GCP and/or AWS experience are highly regarded.
• Experience in commercial deployment of emerging ML technologies and data analytics.
• Experience with ML toolkits such as Keras, Tensorflow, ScikitLearn, PyTorch or equivalent.
• Ability to interact with engineering and data science teams on technical topics.
• Experience with advanced AI/ML methodologies especially large language models such as Open AI GPTs, Azure OpenAI, Claude and Gemini (Highly Desired)
• Experience with the design and implementation of experimentation to evaluate the performance of AI/ML models in a production setting (Desired)
