Machine Operator

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating technical equipment (fryers, seasoning drums, packaging machines) and executing change. We have Afternoon and Night shifts available offering a salary range between $70,000 - $90,000.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• An employee at this level may work without supervision and performs a range of duties including operating a machine. They perform a technical role specifically focused on equipment and maintenance and operate across a process or a line/s.
• They are responsible for their own work performance (technical) and coaching and guiding other employees across the process or line/s in technical matters.
• They have responsibility for decision making within broad policies and plans and for exercising skill and care in support of a safe working environment free of hazards and for their own safety and the safety of others, within the workplace
• Applying technical knowledge when undertaking responsibilities to improve machine operation and processes, always actively seeking line improvement.
• Achieving production output and line speed targets within set timeframes.
• Using non-conformance systems to deliver products within specification.
• Maintaining 6S (Sort, set in order, Shine, Safety, Standardize, Systemize) standards of appearance for equipment/area.
• Supporting Maintenance by troubleshooting issues as the first responder in breakdowns.
• Using initial problem-solving tools to analyse and resolve root cause failures.
• Ensuring raw materials are available for production and monitoring usage
• Adhering to all quality operating procedures and completing quality checks.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene to meet food safety standards
• Adhering to all safety operating procedures.
• Ensuring health and safety work standards and practices are demonstrated in the work area.
• Reporting all health and safety incidents, hazards and near misses
