About Hallett Power Station
Built in 2001, Hallett Power Station is a highly flexible gas-fired peaking Power Station consisting of 13 open-cycle gas turbines with a total capacity of 235MW. The Power Station generates electricity by using natural gas supplied from the Moomba pipeline.
The site is located in an open rural environment in South Australia, approximately 190km north of Adelaide, and about 100km east of Port Pirie. Our team reside around the beautiful area in towns such as Peterborough, Jamestown, Clare, Laura & Burra.
The Opportunity
This is a newly created permanent Engineering role based onsite.
Reporting to Hallett Asset Leader, you will provide engineering support and asset management of predominantly mechanical plant onsite, including Gas Turbines and associated Balance of Plant, working in partnership with our sites’ Maintenance Lead and Operator/Maintainers.
This role will see you lead and manage technical engineering and maintenance activities onsite including owning the relevant Life Management Plans, Asset Management Plans, and maintenance routine strategies. Additionally, you will provide leadership in engineering systems such as Management of Technical Change and enhance maintenance and operations activities through provision of technical fault finding, RCA, project management and outage support.
What are we looking for in a successful candidate?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with eligibility to be registered in SA, or CPEng with Engineers Australia, if not already
- Demonstrated engineering and asset management experience with an understanding of power generation assets and their operations
- Experience with Gas Turbines would be highly beneficial and viewed favourably
- Proven track record of applying Asset Management principles in a commercially focused environment
- Experienced and proficient with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo
- High level reasoning ability to facilitate analysis and problem solving in complex situations
