About Us:

Overall Forge is an Australian based open die forge company that has been manufacturing locally in Australia for over 100 years and has become a major supplier of forgings to industries throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Overall Forge is a fully integrated facility whereby all production including sawing, forging, heat treatment, machining, testing and certification is done in-house.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Fitter is responsible for the repair, modification and manufacture of equipment onsite at our Albury facility. 

You will come from a manufacturing background and be able to work autonomously. You will need excellent attention to detail and have an acutely high level of pride in your work. 

Key Responsibilities:

Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to;

• Effective provision of mechanical fitting for the repairs, maintenance and upgrades to Overall Forge’s plant and equipment
• Be competent in the use of Turning Lathes, Milling Machines, grinders and any machine used to repair or manufacture replacement items
• Complete all required documentation 
• Work in a safe and methodical manner & maintain a clean work environment
• Assist related trades and departments as required
• Ability to carry out mechanical and general repairs under limited supervision
• Assist with the training of Apprentices and others 
• Mechanical and weld repairs when required 
• Be able to work a rotating roster
• Assisting in annual shutdown, usually at Christmas
• Undertake preventative maintenance tasks

Our Next Maintenance Fitter:

In order for you to excel in this role you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• Trade Qualified in Mechanical Fitting 
• Minimum 5 years practical experience in a related field of mechanical fitting
• A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes
• Confined Space ticket advantageous
• Forklift License advantageous
• EWP advantageous 
• Experience with Mechanics, Hydraulics & Pneumatics would be highly advantageous
• Excellent communication skills
• Time management and organisational skills to allow you to prioritise your tasks
• A willingness to learn and continuously improve
