Your opportunity to join us
As a Fitter, you will be supporting our Maintenance team in attending to repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely manner. We are looking for an experienced people to cover either the day shift (5:00am to 1:30pm) or afternoon shift (1:30pm to 10:30pm), Monday to Friday with NO rotation, some weekend work may be required to support the team.
Daily Tasks:
- Attend to repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely manner
- Reduce reactive maintenance and proactively improve unplanned downtime
- Assist in developing maintenance programs to support all internal stakeholders
- Ensure the execution of safety standards and quality assurance practices into all repairs and maintenance activities
- Identify and escalate Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards and risks
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Australian mechanical trade qualification
- Experience in installations, repairs and maintenance of industrial manufacturing equipment, preferably FMCG industry
- Experience in fault finding on hydraulic, pneumatic and complex mechanical systems
- Experience in breakdown as well and preventive maintenance
- Competent welding and fabrication skills
- Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, communicate and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders
- Proven skills in the areas of attention to detail, information processing and problem solving with the ability to multitask
- Ability to identify and introduce improvements in maintenance practices and plant performance
- Experience with Maximo as a CMMS would be an advantage
