What does the role involve?
Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment and facilities through fault finding, proactively repairing machinery, and completing preventative maintenance, enabling the production team to produce high-quality products at the targeted output. This is a day-shift (M-F) role with some overtime required.
What do we need in the role?
Throughout your history of working in the food or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, you have successfully carried out planned and scheduled shutdowns for modifications or overhauls. You know how to effectively support internal production teams with technical insight that improves production and quality outcomes.
HACCP experience, knowledge of product quality requirements, and understanding of food hygiene, food handling concepts, and GMP requirements are essential.
What responsibilities form part of this role?
- Maintaining equipment and facilities to produce high-quality products at the target output and in line with regulatory requirements.
- Assisting in identifying, planning, and executing continuous improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring value and benefit for expenditure.
- Enhancing maintenance operations and budgetary decisions by engaging with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to develop ongoing positive relationships to meet and/or exceed company requirements for continuous operations.
- Maintaining documentation accurately and filing to auditable standards.
- Ensure all equipment, maintenance staff, and contractors carrying out works on site are within OH&S requirements, standards, policies & procedures.
- Managing performance, well-being, and engagement of team members by creating a culture of achievement and high performance.

We’ll be excited if you…
Have the following experience:
- 10 years of experience post-trade, qualification.
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance experience.
- Fault finding and problem-solving skills and experience.
- Pharmaceutical, food manufacturing and FMCG knowledge or relevant industry experience.
Have qualifications in the following:
- Cert IV in Engineering (Fitter, Fitter, and Turner or Fitter/Machinist qualification).
- Cert IV in Competitive Manufacturing (Lean Manufacturing) (preferred).
- Restricted electrical workers licence (preferred)
