Job Description:
The Maintenance Fitter will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of machinery and equipment at the Smithfield facility. This position demands proactive maintenance to minimize downtime and uphold the highest standards of production efficiency and product quality.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting routine maintenance and inspections on machinery and equipment to ensure peak performance
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues to reduce downtime and maintain continuous production
- Executing timely and efficient repairs and replacements of faulty components
- Adhering strictly to safety protocols and procedures to foster a secure working environment
- Collaborating closely with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities and equipment performance records
Requirements:
- A relevant trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a related field
- Proven experience in the role of Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing setting, preferably within the food industry
- Profound understanding of mechanical systems and equipment, including the ability to proficiently diagnose and resolve issues
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and adeptness in working under pressure within a fast-paced environment
