Maintenance Manager

The opportunity now exists for a professional and driven Maintenance Manager to join our QLD team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for the management, planning and coordination of all Maintenance, service, and repairs for Digga Australia. We are seeking someone who has the ability to provide quality leadership, motivation, and direction in the day to day running of the facility, ensuring it is managed effectively.
You will have previous management or supervisory experience in a similar role. The role requires a hands-on person who is, self-motivated, has well-developed communication skills and is exceptional with organising and planning.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and coordinate a preventative maintenance schedule and procedure.
- Liaise directly with Managers and Supervisors of each department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in all process areas.
- Prepare reports and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
- Monitor the use and inventories of maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiate reordering when necessary.
- Work with and assist contractors on site during installations and commissioning of plant and equipment.
- Work with maintenance suppliers/providers to increase asset life and ensure down time kept to a minimum.
- Work as part of the team, providing hands on maintenance work.
- Maintenance costs kept in line with budgets.
- Cost reductions implemented where possible.
Essential Requirements
- Trade Qualified fitter or similar
- Minimum 3 – 5 years Maintenance experience
- Understanding of Tooling/machine capabilities
- Good hand/eye coordination
- Physically fit to perform the physical requirements of the role.
- Ability to read drawings; job specifications/ instructions.
- Sound computer and system skills.
- Current Drivers and forklift license
