GoBoat is recruiting for a newly created role, supporting the ongoing maintenance and operations of our growing fleet of 50+ fibreglass picnic boats across Australia.
We are recruiting for a tradesperson with a demonstrated capability to conduct routine fibreglass maintenance, small repairs, and troubleshooting.
The role will be based in South East Queensland (Gold Coast and Brisbane), with some interstate travel required throughout the year. The role is full-time, mostly Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend availability required.
The role:
Maintain all vessels and onboard equipment by carrying out preventative, scheduled, and ad hoc maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of company assets
- Service and repair electric outboard motors (training provided)
- Maintain onboard electrical systems (12V, 24V, 48V)
- Maintain and monitor onboard charging systems (240V)
- Maintain gel coat on all vessels via regular polishing and waxing, and carry out repairs as required
- Maintain timber picnic tables onboard all vessels via regular varnishing.
- Manage annual antifouling of all vessels (in-house or contracted externally)
- Ensure all equipment is in service and meets company standards and government compliance (e.g., firefighting and test-and-tag).
- Coordinate local and interstate movements of vessels
- Manage external contractors to support specialist maintenance (as required)
- Mentor and support location management and crew on ongoing maintenance of vessels
- Occasionally assist customers when on-site
Desired Qualifications
- Trade qualified boat builder or marine trades assistant
- Marine Engineer or technical experience
- Restricted Electrical Licence or Marine Electrician
- Knowledge of 12v, 24v, and 48v DC Systems
- Knowledge of 240v AC systems
- Coxswain Grade 3 or higher
Essential Qualifications
- Unrestricted drivers licence
- Recreational marine drivers (boat) licence
