Due to a recent departure from the business, there is a need to hire a Maintenance Manager for their manufacturing plant based in Sydney.
Your new role
This role forms an integral part of their operational manufacturing leadership team, reporting into the Supply Chain Director. I am actively looking for a dynamic and visionary Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations at the renowned manufacturing facility in Sydney. As the strategic leader for maintenance, you will oversee the management of stores and drive the evolution of maintenance strategies and initiatives. Your goal is to enhance reliability, achieve outstanding performance, and align with both local and global maintenance trends.
- Take charge of all aspects of plant maintenance, including workshop and shift maintenance, with the aim of achieving maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and put into action a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Strategy to ensure optimal utilisation of company assets.
- Plan and guide the maintenance team in managing resources and activities during plant shutdowns, all while adhering to the planned maintenance budget.
- Utilise software tools to analyse plant equipment reliability and performance, aiming to improve overall reliability.
- Oversee the service labour contract and manage personnel provided by an external service labour provider.
- Lead the adoption and integration of the businesses' global lean manufacturing model across the organisation, collaborating with other teams.
- Work closely with individual team members to foster accountability and actively support their professional development journeys.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience gained in Maintenance Management with a trade certificate in either Mechanical or Electrical, coupled with a strong track record of success in a similar role within the FMCG manufacturing industry.
- Comfortable in managing and setting budgets
- Experience gained in plant reliability, engineering stores, facilities management
- A strong planning background
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment
- Good with data - can interpret reports and use data to guide decisions and insights
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills, a proactive approach and results-oriented
- A people manager with the ability to lead a team to deliver successful results, someone who can inspire a team to look to the future of maintenance
