The Opportunity
As a Maintenance Officer at the East Gippsland Livestock Exchange, you’ll take on a range of responsibilities to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the saleyards and associated buildings.
Some tasks you may find yourself doing include maintaining the floor yard and saleyard surrounds, general cleaning of the saleyards and buildings, assisting with the disposal of stock when required, supporting with works prior, during and after sale days and minor maintenance.
This is a casual position based from the East Gippsland Livestock Exchange in Bairnsdale.
Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria)
- Experience in saleyard operations and the livestock industry
- Experience working with tools, plant and equipment skid-steer (bobcat) desirable
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Good computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office, computer-based saleyard management systems highly desirable.
- Self-motivated to perform work at a high quality with the ability to work non-standard hours if required.
- A current, valid Victorian Driver’s licence.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
