We are looking for a Maintenance Officer to join our welcoming and friendly team at The Royce Aged Care and Retirement Village. Located in Penrith, this role will allow you to utilise your knowledge and skills to make a real difference in the lives of our residents.
This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The Maintenance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that our facilities are safe, well-maintained while providing exceptional professional and respectful service to those who call our beautiful facility home.
You will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our facility. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to work methodically, setting priorities, working quickly and multitasking.
All tools and uniform will be supplied.
Reporting to the Village Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Preventative maintenance: planning and scheduling.
- Ensure the buildings and grounds are well maintained by carrying out daily & weekly maintenance items, such as bin collections. Please note: This is not a gardening role; we have that covered!
- Attending to all reactive and preventative maintenance across the Aged Care and Village
- Ordering and storing of stock as required.
- Timely reporting and completion of tasks
- Co-ordinate trades and services to ensure repairs occur in a timely manner.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure tasks or projects undertaken are safe, timely and completed to a high standard.
- Follow all Workplace, Health and Safety standards and report any safety or security concerns.
- Ensure the timely action of hazards, incidents and other events that involve the maintenance function.
- Carry out refurbishments of the Aged Care and Village
- Contribute to after- hours maintenance requirements from time to time
- Contribute to the support of residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy
Essential Criteria

- Demonstrated commitment to customer focused services
- Experience in Maintenance or 'Handyperson' roles or skilled in domestic repair tasks (highly desired)
- Trade Certificate or equivalent experience
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver's licence
- Current Police Check certificate
