Role 

This is an opportunity for a Senior Maintenance Officer to join our Avondale Orchard maintenance team. This role is pivotal to our Avondale operation. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is motivated to apply strong mechanical knowledge and leadership skills in a dynamic workshop environment. This role will require prioritising and overseeing workshop activities as well as supporting and training the Junior Maintenance Officer. You will be flexible to be on call, as required, to carry out maintenance involved in shift work through harvest and seasonal periods. Overtime and weekend work is available in this role, if desired. 

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Current driver’s licence 
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge (trade certificate not essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in training and supervising employees 
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining and repairing farming plant and equipment 
  • A proven track record in prioritising, managing, and adhering to a programmed maintenance schedule
  • Demonstrated experience using computer programs such as excel to record and report maintenance activities
  • Demonstrated experience with metal fabrication, welding, oxy acetylene and lathe work as required to facilitate the above maintenance tasks
  • Strong attention and adherence to all Company safety policies and procedures
