About the role

We are seeking a part-time Maintenance Person to work within the Accommodation Services team across our two accommodation facilities, Milroy Lodge in Shenton Park and Crawford Lodge in Nedlands. The two busy accommodation lodges provide country cancer patients and their carers with subsidised accommodation whilst attending treatment.

Reporting to the Accommodation Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing maintenance services to the buildings and grounds to ensure they are kept in a well-maintained condition.

Other responsibilities include:

• Liasing with Accommodation Services Manager to organise specialised trades people when required
• Ensuring maintenance schedules are maintained
• Liasing with Manager or Coordinator to ensure volunteer gardeners are working in a safe, supportive and engaging environment.

This position is part-time, working Monday - Thursday, 16 hours per week. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• A current ‘C’ class drivers licence
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and maintain relationships and networks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
• Positive approach to the workplace
