About the Role...
Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, organising, implementing & supervising general servicing, mechanical installation, & breakdown repairs to all plant & mobile machinery throughout the D.A Hall & Co Poultry Layer Farms. Other responsibilities include sub-contractors, financial/budgeting, quality control, production meetings, human resource management & staff meetings, training/traineeships, workplace health & safety, sites & services, inventory management.
Day-to-day tasks & duties include:
- Ensure daily production requirements are met through proactive preventative maintenance;
- Co-ordinate & carry out scheduled maintenance & repairs of all plant & equipment;
- Utilise skill & experience to assist other employees & create minimum downtime on machinery;
- Develop, implement, & maintain maintenance data base – providing accurate functional information as required, including breakdown times & costs, etc;
- Maintain, improve & implement full Preventative Maintenance Program;
- Maintain & build on existing relationship with key external business partners (Hotraco, Vencomatic, Big Dutchman etc);
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in workshop & working areas at all times, ensure all parts are kept at minimum stock levels;
- Ensure inventory of all spare parts is maintained at agreed levels to prevent loss of production, reporting usage to the GM Poultry & Area Managers as required;
- Monitor maintenance team ensuring that all work is conducted in a safe & timely manner.
Qualification, skills & experience
In order to successfully perform this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Australian (or overseas equivalent) diploma level mechanical or electrical qualification;
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Maintenance Planner or senior mechanical or electrical maintenance role;
- Strong mechanical aptitude & sound troubleshooting skills;
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with manager, other team members & tradespeople;
- Working at Heights certificate highly regarded;
- Experience working with industrial/commercial cooling systems is highly regarded.
What else do you need?
- High level of mechanical knowledge and expertise;
- Ability to plan & organise complex maintenance tasks & meet objectives/outcomes;
- High level of literacy & numeracy skills;
- Current driver’s license;
- Sound physical fitness, with ability to work in dirty or dusty environments, work at heights or confined spaces, or work outside in all weather conditions.
