Maintenance Superintendent

Come and be part of something great.  Our South Walker Creek mine in the Bowen Basin has a great opportunity for a Superintendent – Maintenance to fill a critical leadership role in our team.  You will provide leadership, strategic and tactical direction to the Maintenance function ensuring delivery and planning of safe, high quality project performance. 

As Superintendent - Maintenance, you will:  

• Demonstrate proactive safe leadership to all employees and contractors by promoting and enforcing use of JSEA’s, SOP’s, permits, work instructions and OEM manuals to conduct tasks
• Lead by example, lead with energy and display behaviours in line with Stanmore Values
• Work with the Planning Department to drive compliance with the Maintenance Work Management System and set clear direction for the Execution team
• Drive the capture of accurate data within the SAP CMMS including the use of Notifications, Time Confirmations and Component Change Out forms
• Communication and consultation across business departments e.g. planning requirements with operational departments, engineering delays and incident outcomes 
• Proactively manage available labour resources against forecasted workload and engage Contractors where required to meet the business needs
• Identify and implement continuous (CI) improvement strategies targeting safety, reliability and cost saving
• Manage the Maintenance costs and capital spends for all workshop equipment and be actively engaged in the development of the Annual Budget and monthly forecast
• Lead the development, review and update of Maintenance documentation that improves the department and assists to manage risks associated with the tasks being completed e.g. safe work procedures, Position descriptions
• Deliver equipment performance that meets the needs of the business by prioritising work based on criticality and liaising with the customer to determine opportunities to complete
• Clearly set expectations with crew members, monitor outputs and give proactive feedback on completion of tasks
• Ensure machine health monitoring and assessment information is actioned to deliver machine and component life

About you

We are looking for a maintenance professional with strong leadership and technical skills teamed with a positive, can-do attitude, who can coach and mentor existing Supervisors, set and maintain standards and engage the team to help them reach their potential.  There is an opportunity for this person to have a positive impact on the site and make a difference.  If you have:

• Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Maintenance Management (preferred)
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within open cut mining
• Establish, develop and maintain relationships with Key Stakeholders (Peers) across all departments
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture
• Demonstrated technical skills including maintenance strategy development and optimisation, Maintenance Work Management implementation, RCA / 5 Why’s
• Experience in the use of SAP as a Maintenance management tool (CMMS)
