Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for managing the maintenance engineering team in Crushing or Steam plants at Pioneer Mill, in the Burdekin region. This exciting role will see you taking charge of large milling units, large power generation units that sustainably power QLD homes as well as large steam generation plants that power our factory. You will have support from design and project teams and be a part of a high performing team that values safety.
Responsibilities- Implement maintenance execution activities as per the asset strategy
- Manage the teams in the service, maintenance and repairs of all equipment
- Assist the Asset Management teams to develop long to medium term plans and procedures to optimise the overall efficiency and viability of the business as required.
- Forecast corrective maintenance and assist with the scheduling of this work to reduce impact on the factory or production
- Work closely with the site Scheduler to assemble an achievable work schedule from the planned work packages determined by self and reliability team
- Analyse current and past data for improvement opportunities so as to improve the overall reliability of the factory and individual plant items.
- Continually review work execution schedules with the site scheduler to ensure effective and efficient completion of works
- Support the development and improvement of existing asset management systems and processes
- Work closely with the Reliability Manager/Engineers to develop mid to long term factory and capital plans, goals and strategies
- Contribute to the success and the viability/effectiveness of new plant and equipment by regular
participation in mill equipment selection, design and commissioning activities
The Successful ApplicantWe are seeking an individual with strong safety values, leadership skills and solid stakeholder engagement capabilities. You will be highly structured in your approach, with a high attention to detail. You will be proactive in identifying opportunities to help drive the maintenance function.Something about you
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years in a senior technical engineering or maintenance leadership role in heavy industrial environment
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and Engineering Standards
- Experience using SAP or similar (IM/PS/PM)
- Sugar industry experience, tertiary Engineering qualifications and RPEQ would be highly desirable but not essential
