Job description:
Discover your next step as the Utilities Maintenance Superintendent at the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Utilities Superintendent will play a crucial role in the maintenance of all utility areas at the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation. This includes Sulphuric Acid Plant, Power Generation, Water Purification, Desalination Plant, Turbines, Boiler Systems, and De-mineralisation Water Plant.
This is a preferred residential role working on a 5:2, 4:3 roster, living in Hopetoun WA which inestled next to the Fitzgerald National Park. A relocation package and company housing will be provided to the successful candidate.
Key Accountabilities:
Direct management of Utility Maintenance Supervisors and Co-ordinator
Promote the development of sound engineering practices;
Dedicated commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities, ensuring compliance to Company Safety Standards and Procedures;
A clear understanding of preventative maintenance, planning, strong communication skills and a flexible ‘can do’ approach to work;
Perform failure investigations of critical equipment failures, with the aim of continuous improvement;
Provide technical direction and guidance for the maintenance teams;
Ensure maintenance team activities are aligned with the overall business objectives;
Maintain and efficient, motivated workforce;
Achieve daily planned maintenance targets;
Develop a core leadership team and provide mentoring of these key personnel; and
Responsible for a high availability of all mechanical equipment within the area.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Mechanical Trade Background, bachelor degree would be an advantage;
Significant previous experience in a supervisory role within heavy fixed plant maintenance environment;
Experience in a sulphur burning Sulphuric Acid Plant;
Experience and knowledge with power generation, water purification, desalination plants, turbines, boiler systems, de-mineralisation water plant;
Self-motivated and conscientious;
Ability to read, understand and interpret mechanical drawings;
Ability to work with others and achieve objectives;
Commitment to continuous improvement;
Able to plan and effectively delegate to achieve desired outcomes and objectives;
Problem solving and analytical skills;
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people from diverse technical and workplace backgrounds; and
Able to work within tight time constraints and deliver on deadlines.
Schedule 26 appointed or will be required to obtain the qualification within a specified timeframe.
