We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Test Technician supporting testing across Flemington, Hornsby and Mortdale Maintenance Centres. Predominantly day shift with some afternoon and night shift required. Day shift 06:00 - 14:00, afternoon shift 13:00 - 21:00, night shift 20:00 - 04:00. Some weekend work may be required to support the test schedule. This role is a 12 month- full-time fixed-term role.
This role forms part of the Project Test and Commissioning Team reporting to the Test & Commissioning Manager. You will carry out on-train defect rectification and fault-finding using diagnostic software, provide technical support, and repair of rollingstock.
The key targets of the role are to ensure test train requirements are met and the test trains ready for test on time and defect free as well as completing all necessary documentation.
You will conduct routine test instructions and verification activities on Tangara fleet to support rollout of ATP.
Ideally, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Trade qualifications (Electrical, Mechanical or other related disciplines)
- Previous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) and European Train Control System (ETCS) experience preferred
- Strong fault-finding and ability to use diagnostic software required
- Current RIW and driver's licence
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and understanding Engineering documents
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders
- Pro-active approach and experience in managing and resolving technical issues
- Knowledge of relevant safety, quality and environmental standards
