Maintenance Technician - Electrical | Cabramurra

An exciting opportunity exists for an electrical tradesperson to join the team in Upper Tumut region to carry out maintenance and repairs of various types of plant equipment. You'll undertake all work within your skills, competence and development. This includes performing a wider range of duties, including work that is incidental or peripheral to their main task or function. Working a 4 day week as part of a Drive in Drive out roster in Cabramurra NSW, this opportunity offers the perfect balance for work and play.

As a Maintenance Technician - Electrical you will be responsible for:

• Electrical installation and repair work, including verification and sign-off of electrical work according to regulatory standards and internal requirements

• Performing routine and breakdown maintenance for all electrical features of hydro generating assets. This includes working on electrical systems including but not not limited to: generators, transformers, motors, HV & LV switchgear, lighting etc. ensuring plant availability and reliability

• Contributing to the planning of work through the development of work plans and job steps to ensure maintenance activities (the “Scope of Work”) can be accurately scheduled and executed

• Identifying and recommending improvement opportunities associated with maintenance activities

• Operating auxiliary plant and equipment systems within competencies and authorisation

• Providing leadership/mentoring/coaching to apprentices and other relevant employees and contractors.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Intermediate computer literacy skill level

• Certificate in Electrical Trade, Qualified Supervisors Certificate Electrician

• 5 years post-trade experience in relevant industry

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Electrical Engineering industry, especially installation and maintenance of large plant and auxiliary equipment

• Sound working knowledge of the electrical operation and condition of generating plant, equipment and associated structures

• The ability to work in a wide range of environments including but not limited to confined spaces and working at heights

• Knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning and monitoring procedures and work methods

• A thorough knowledge of relevant standards and regulations

• The ability to work in a flexible nature by responding to changing plant conditions

• An alignment to Snowy Hydro's Corporate values and behaviours. 

This role is Full time on a drive in drive out arrangement and not part of the Snowy 2.0 project.
