About the role
Woodlands is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Feedmill who will provide effective maintenance and repair of plant and equipment to achieve agreed plant performance levels including availability, reliability, cost, safety, and quality. The feedmill produces over 2000 tonne of feed per week and operates almost 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out maintenance procedures in line with company policy
- Perform preventative maintenance in a timely, cost-effective manner
- Proactively identify, diagnose, and repair breakdowns in a timely manner
- Actively participate and assist in equipment upgrades and installations
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and activities
- Participate in Toolbox Talks, actively taking part to resolve operational and WHSE issues
- Identify and maintain the maintenance spare parts and consumables inventory.
- Promote a safety culture and comply with company policies
Skills and experience
Candidates should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Trades certificate (Mechanical Fitter) is desirable but not essential
- Minimum 2 years experience
- Welding experience is essential
- Forklift ticket required
- Working at Heights is desirable
- EWP is desirable
- Confined Space is desirable
- some heavy lifting required
- Must be able to work in a dusty environment
- Be able to work unsupervised
- Be flexible in hours required to work and may be required to work weekends, public holidays and nights depending on operational issues
- Available for immediate start
- Be prepared to reside in the local vicinity
Responsibilities
The specific responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Repair and maintain required machinery to a consistently high standard.
- Respond to general housekeeping requirements and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Receive and action specialised maintenance jobs from the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
- Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns, with the aim of minimising downtime.
- Record and report the consumption spare parts.
- Understand and ensure work complies with controlled documents, and complete and maintain quality records when required by procedural documentation.
