Reporting the Operations General Manager, this position requires a skilled tradesperson with qualifications in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or a related field. The position will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the site facilities located at Lucas Heights, assisting to ensure that the facility operates efficiently and safely, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards
This role is subject to the incumbent's ability to hold an Australian national security clearance as well as their ongoing ability to maintain site access. Your responsibilities in this role will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Facilities Maintenance:
- Attend to maintenance and repair of the Silex facility including laboratories, workshop, offices, and general work areas as required and directed.
- Identify and trouble shoot issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimise downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections of the building to identify and address potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Ongoing management of cleanliness of common areas and restrooms.
- Escort and supervise contractors on site in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collect packages from the store located inside the ANSTO business park. * Perform the ANSTO role of Contract Supervisor.
- Escort delivery drivers on site.
- Ensure each laboratory and work area is supplied with adequate gases.
- Manage ordering of gases.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Provide technical support and advice for facility upgrades and modifications.
- Procurement and installation of new equipment as required.
- Technical Team Support:
- Cutting and handling of material for construction activities as required.
- Deliver and collect work packages from external manufacturing workshops.
- Rudimentary assembly of equipment including manual machining tasks.
- Workspace cleanup after construction activities.
- Management of tool boxes and tool sets, replacing damaged tools.
- Purchase items from local suppliers as required by technical staff.
- Work Health and Safety (WHS):
- Immediately report any safety or environmental incidents, unsafe acts, and conditions or near misses to the company's management.
- Adhere to the Company's WHS, environmental policies, procedures and legislative requirements relating to the work being undertaken to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace and to minimize or eliminate the environmental impacts of the task
About You
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/industrial facility support.
- Trade qualification in a relevant field.
- NSW Dogging license desirable.
- NSW Driver's license.
- Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Basic computer skills for record keeping, placing orders and communication.
- Diligent worker who is self-motivated, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Capable of planning, designing, and execution of required tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written communications, with a collaborative working style that fosters good relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Progressive, flexible and team-oriented person required, with the ability to also work autonomously.
- Ability to execute key project tasks through to completion with a continuous improvement focus.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise work demands.
