We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance/Handyperson to join our team. The Maintenance/Handyperson will be responsible for performing a variety of building, maintenance and repair tasks at our sites on the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and Hunter Valley. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of general maintenance tasks, be a proactive problem solver, and possess excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities:
- General building, repair and maintenance of company properties
- Perform inspections of the properties and equipment to identify and address any maintenance issues promptly.
- Repair or replace broken or faulty equipment, furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner, prioritising urgent issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in evaluating and obtaining quotes for maintenance and repair services from external vendors, if required.
- Mowing, edging, spraying, weeding, mulching, planting, pruning, sweeping, and/or any other gardening, property related tasks associated with grounds maintenance as required.
Requirements:
- Certificate 3 in Carpentry or proven experience as a Maintenance/ Handyperson
- NDISWC and WWCC or willingness to obtain.
- Unrestricted Drivers Licence
- White card
- Basic computer skills to maintain maintenance records and communicate via email.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to use and maintain various tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks that may involve standing, bending, or climbing.
