Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role
Residing in the West Kimberley and reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this is an exciting opportunity for two Management Accountants to join our growing mining company.
These roles will be responsible for supporting the Senior Management Accountant through the delivery of timely and relevant financial information whilst ensuring that sound financial processes and systems are in place.
Site based role: 4 days on, 3 days off (Bus in/out from Broome or Derby)
Broome based role: Monday - Thursday
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s financial management framework.
- Keep the SMA informed of all operational material financial matters which may be relevant
- Preparation of monthly management accounts in accordance with timelines, including accruals, allocations, and cost transfers.
- Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, providing support for movements and closing balances.
- Support quarterly forecast and annual budgeting processes, including stakeholder engagements and variance analysis.
- Support monthly cost review conversations with Department Managers to ensure timely and accurate reporting of cost data.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting systems and procedures.
- Ensure Fixed Asset Register is maintained including timely capitalisations and disposals.
- Assist with audit queries.
- Ad-hoc modelling, review and analysis as required.
About You
- Hold a current WA C-Class driver’s licence
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a professional environment.
Experience within the resources sector is highly desirable.
Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, with high standard of excel knowledge.
Proficiency in finance ERP systems management
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate a planned approach to work including effectively managing time, punctuality, and timelines.
Strong organisational skills
Ability to work autonomously
